Customer Service in the Trenches: CLA Customer Service Section's Fall Program

Customer Service in the Trenches: CLA Customer Service Section's Fall Program

This event is sponsored by the CLA Customer Service Section and is taking place at the Wallingford Public Library.

Front-line staff are continually faced with a multitude of service issues and it's often challenging to navigate these waters.  Each of our users has different needs and expectations which vary on a day-to-day, sometimes even minute to minute basis.  Some are easily assisted, others crave social interaction and long conversations. Some may suffer from mental illness, others may be on the autism spectrum, have physical disabilities or developmental delays and visit and communicate with the help of an aid.  Some users are just simply difficult to satisfy.  Yet, both in person and on the phone, we must consistently provide excellent service and a positive experience working within the guidelines of our libraries.  Come be part of this interactive workshop and learn strategies you can implement in the trenches as you provide the best possible service to your community.
