Media Smart @ Your Library

Media Smart @ Your Library

Media Smart Libraries is coming to Connecticut! In this two-part hands-on workshop, you will first learn about Stop Motion Animation and take a turn creating your own film. Participants will discover how easy it is to engage patrons of all ages in this maker activity.  A list of sample equipment, budget amounts, and tips to run your own program will be provided. In the second half, participants will have the opportunity to discuss their continuing education needs and brainstorm how best to deliver learning opportunities to library staff. Your voice is critical to understanding the competencies library staff in New England need today and will help GSLIS plan and drive forward-thinking professional learning initiatives.

Facilitators: Dr. Valerie Karno, Director, University of Rhode Island, Graduate School of Library and Information Studies; Dr. Lauren Mandel, Assistant Professor, GSLIS; and Dr. Mary Moen, Assistant Professor, GSLIS.
