LSTA Grant Information Session

The CT State Library makes LSTA planning grants available on a rolling basis. Might one of these grants facilitate your planning for the “return”? Do you need to plan additional services for the “new normal”? Refashion old services? Do you need to figure out how to reconfigure space and internet access to maintain physical distancing? Do you need re-think adult literacy and financial literacy programming  in the context of the new economic slump?  Figure out what expertise is needed to aid job seekers and small business recovery efforts?

This virtual information session is a requirement for all applicants.  It will cover application instructions, regulations, and fiscal management. It is recommended that the person writing the application and the person managing the project attend.  Dawn LaValle, Director of the Division of Library Development, and Christine Gauvreau, LSTA Coordinator, will review the resources and tools available for preparing your applications.  These include the new Best Practices in Connecticut Public Libraries self-assessment tool for libraries and the Aspen Institute’s “Action Guide for Re-Envisioning Your Public Library, version 2.0,” a set of resources for convening a community dialogue and helping communities take action to re-envision their own public library

The due dates for the next two LSTA planning grant applications are June 26 and August 21.

The Zoom link will be sent to those registered the afternoon before the event.
