TIAL: Survey Results! Aging & Inclusion Training Needs with the CT Age Well Collaborative

The Connecticut Age Well Collaborative presents a summary report of key themes gathered through the survey of library employees and other stakeholders and propose training content and schedule recommendations in this one-hour virtual kick-off event for Connecticut library staff.

The Connecticut Age Well Collaborative

The Connecticut Age Well Collaborative is a statewide, cross-sector initiative that fosters aging, dementia and disability-inclusive communities. The Collaborative is an initiative of Connecticut Community Care. Delegated by the Commission on Women, Children, Seniors, Equity & Opportunity, we’re leading the state’s livable communities initiative (Section 17b-420a of the Connecticut General Statutes) Livable communities are inclusive, vibrant places where we can all thrive across the lifespan.

Christina Gray

Christina Gray is Community Partnerships Manager for the Connecticut Age Well Collaborative. Christina is a program manager and DEI expert with 15 years of experience building more diverse and equitable workplaces. Most recently, she worked with the National Conference for Community and Justice, raising awareness and cultivating inclusive environments by facilitating over 150 training sessions and collaborating with community and institutional leaders to launch over 60 equity intervention initiatives. She has also trained over 100 clients and emerging leaders to design and facilitate DEI programs. Christina earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a Concentration in Diversity and Social Inequality from University of Massachusetts and is a candidate for a Master’s in Education in Social Justice Education, also from UMASS.

To register for a DLD workshop or webinar, you must be one of the following:

  • current library staff member
  • undergraduate or graduate library student
  • Friend or Board Member/Trustee*
  • retired or unemployed library staff

*Unless otherwise specified that a Friend or Board Member/Trustee is not eligible for a training or workshop.

Note: paid consultants are not eligible to attend DLD workshops or webinars.

Cancellation Policy

If you cannot attend a workshop you have registered for, please remember to cancel at least 3 days in advance so we can give your spot to someone else. You can cancel via the link in your confirmation email, or by contacting Gail Hurley gail.hurley@ct.gov | (860) 704-2222.

Those who miss (without cancelling) 3 events within a 6-month period will be placed on the waiting list when registering for future events. Be sure to sign in when you arrive for any workshop.

Inclement Weather Policy

For all in-person workshops offered by the CT State Library, Division of Library Development:

If the public schools in the town where the workshop is to be held close due to weather, the workshop will be canceled. If the schools have a delay, the workshop will go on as scheduled.
