The Age Well Collaborative’s Community Leaders Fellowship builds bridges between local government eager to create more vibrant, accessible communities and community members who have the lived experience to guide inclusivity initiatives that help us all age well. But before we asked towns to take this journey—we took it ourselves!  Learn how the Collaborative grew relationships to help build community authority, co-created a project and cultivated lasting community leadership—and how your library might do the same.  

Aging, Ability, and Inclusion with the CT Age Well Collaborative

In 2024, the CT State Library Division of Library Development and the CT Age Well Collaborative partnered to survey the CT library community to identify learning needs for creating more inclusive libraries for every age and ability.  We listened, and we hope you’ll join us for a training series customized for CT libraries!  We’ll explore how libraries and community residents can build bridges to co-create more vibrant, accessible communities. We’ll journey inward, examining our own minds and hearts as we work together to dismantle ageism. And we’ll uplift amazing, inclusive places, right here in Connecticut.  Join us for the same general content to be offered in the Collaborative’s Age Well Academy series, but tailored just for libraries.

The Connecticut Age Well Collaborative fosters inclusive, accessible communities where we can all age well. They are part of Connecticut Community Care, a nonprofit that helps people live their best lives at home, with support services and connections to loved ones and community.
