Escape Rooms! : Games at the Library

Escape Rooms! : Games at the Library

Do(n’t) Panic! Escape Rooms at the Library Escape or Locked Room games are popping up everywhere these days. This phenomenon presents an interesting opportunity for libraries, which have long been creating and implementing live action games to surprise their communities with something unexpected, reach out to new users and revitalize their image. At this session, learn about this new global trend and find out ways to stage an Escape Room at your library with the resources you have. We will also discuss how to demonstrate the value of gaming events to stakeholders, evaluating the inherent potential of your space, the basics of world-building and rule-making, and how to replicate the same template multiple times for maximum use. These programs have the power to be transformative: all you need is creativity.
