Virtual currencies, like Bitcoin, have attracted significant attention lately. What are virtual currencies, though? Where can a consumer find accurate information? 

The Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection (the Bureau) will host a webinar to help library staff better understand how virtual currency markets operate, identify reliable resources they can share, and help patrons avoid fraud. This webinar will feature speakers from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, and the North American Securities Administrators Association. Each organization will showcase free and unbiased materials you may use in your library to help consumers get a better understanding of virtual currencies.

Those who miss (without cancelling) 3 events within a 6-month period will be placed on the waiting list when registering for future events. Be sure to sign in when you arrive for any workshop.

Inclement Weather Policy

For all in-person workshops offered by the CT State Library, Division of Library Development:

If the public schools in the town where the workshop is to be held close due to weather, the workshop will be canceled. If the schools have a delay, the workshop will go on as scheduled.
