Urban Libraries Professional Development Symposium - Economic outlook and job opportunities

Patrick Flaherty, Assistant Director of Research and Information at the Connecticut Department of Labor will address the following in his presentation:

1.       What do we know about the current economic conditions nationally and in Connecticut?

2.       What are economic forecasters saying about the future?

3.       Are there really job opportunities in these difficult times? (spoiler alert – yes!)

4.       Are there any credible, free online tools available for job search and career planning?   (yes, there are many, a few of which will be demonstrated)

Those who miss (without cancelling) 3 events within a 6-month period will be placed on the waiting list when registering for future events. Be sure to sign in when you arrive for any workshop.

Inclement Weather Policy

For all in-person workshops offered by the CT State Library, Division of Library Development:

If the public schools in the town where the workshop is to be held close due to weather, the workshop will be canceled. If the schools have a delay, the workshop will go on as scheduled.
