Advanced Book Trailers with WeVideo

Note: This workshop is open to library staff in Connecticut only.

Videos can be useful ways to market books, book groups, and Library collections. Go beyond the basics in this book trailer class for those who have some experience with either book trailers or WeVideo.com environment. During the class, we’ll cover image, video, and audio effects you can use to make a trailer as simple or as sophisticated as your time and interest allows. Since this is a small group class, participants will need a computer with a camera and microphone so they can share thoughts and ask questions throughout the class. This is a beginner class - it is helpful if participants are comfortable with downloading things from the internet, and adding web browser plugins. Participants will receive info about signing up for a free WeVideo account before the workshop.  Prerequisite: Beginner Book Trailers with WeVideo or equivalent experience.

Objectives

  1. To identify best practices for book trailers and their use with your community
  2. To learn the WeVideo environment.
  3. To create sophisticated book trailers with image, video, and audio effects to promote library materials and services.
  4. To be able to share completed book trailers with others using email and social media
